Confronting images of man allegedly left for dead in hit-run
The family of a Western Australian man allegedly left for dead in a hit-and-run on Christmas Day say he will never be the same again.
They have shared confronting photos of the injuries suffered by Paul Tsagaris, who would have died if he didn’t have part of his skull removed.
The 41-year-old Mandurah man now has brain damage, but his twin sister Kelly says she is just grateful he’s still alive.
“We will probably never have the same brother that we had before,” she said.
Doctors performed an emergency craniotomy after Mr Tsagaris was hit by a car, allegedly driven by an 18-year-old P-plater.
The accused is Brittany Lee Bramble, who faced a Mandurah court on Friday.
The teenager is accused of leaving Ms Tsagaris lying on Mandurah Road even though he was bleeding from horrific head injuries.
He was eventually found lying unconscious by an off-duty paramedic and other drivers, but nobody knows how long he had been lying there alone.
Kelly Tsagaris said the family was seeking justice and answers to exactly what happened that day.
Ms Bramble will return to court in March, while Mr Tsagaris will need ongoing rehabilitation and more surgery to fix his skull.
