Canadian parents are defending their decision to restrain a man in their home who allegedly had intentions to have sex with their 13-year-old daughter.
Video footage, posted to Facebook, shows the man restrained with zip ties lying on the family's floor. The girl's mother can be heard berating the 28-year-old.
"He wanted to be her first," the woman can be heard saying on the video.
She then claims she had earlier called police to come to her house for the pre-arranged meeting.
It's believed the man thought he was meeting up with the daughter.
"Why wouldn't the police not come and help me catch this predator that just came to my f****** house?" she can be heard asking through tears.
Police later arrive at the property. One of them asks "can someone untie him?".
The mother claims she asked police to investigate the man six weeks ago, when she discovered explicit messages sent to her daughter’s Instagram account, CTV News reports.
The advice she says she received was to block the man and forget it.

The mother and stepfather admit to restraining and interrogating the man. The stepfather said he is an acquaintance of the family.
Police said they have an "ongoing investigation on the matter".
The parents are standing by their response to the man, saying their actions were justified.
“If I get charged, I still feel it was the right thing,” the mother said.
“This is ridiculous,” said the stepfather. “Shouldn’t a guy be able to protect his own family in his house?”
The identity of the parents has been hidden to protect the identity of the 13-year-old girl.
