During an interview with 'News of the World' Diaz said: "'Sex' is the sexiest word in the English language. Just the word is sexy to me. There's something to it, dontcha think?"

But the actress didn't stop there, and went on to further articulate what 'chalks her board,' revealing: "Sex is my favourite sport. And what's the quickest way to get me in the mood? I'm ALWAYS in the mood!"

The stunning blonde has never been one to shy away from pillow talk - having proclaimed to Jimmy Kimmel in February "I love porn" - but her new role for 'Bad Teacher' is a firm change from the innocent beauties she usually plays.

The role sees Diaz as a foul-mouthed, inappropriate school mistress with a penchant for drug use, with the character's love interest played by none other than ex-boyfriend of four years, Justin Timberlake.

While most might find it awkward being in the same room as a former partner, Diaz and Timberlake share a few intimate scenes in the film, and Diaz insists working with her ex wasn't awkward in the slightest.

"We're good at being funny together. We know how to do that. That's easy."

Diaz is currently dating baseball star Alex Rodriguez, and despite rumours that the pair have gone their separate ways, the actress is yet to confirm or deny them. When asked about Rodriguez she said:

"It's really awesome. I love men more than anything. But guys need women who challenge them and don't let them get away with their shit."

"And women need to not be crazy b*****s who blow up when their guys tell them something that scares them," she said.

The star concedes that it's the women who are confident and not looking for anyone's approval that she finds the sexiest. "Mila Kunis is a little hottie. Natalie Portman is amazing. And the Victoria's Secret girls... "

While Diaz may be sounding more like her 'Bad Teacher' character than the girl-next door we are used to hearing about, we think this uninhibited outlook may be here to stay.

"I think there are moments where people will think, 'Wow. Didn't expect that,' revealed Diaz about her new role.

"Playing Elizabeth was very liberating - she doesn't care, so you can't really care. But it's FUN."

'Bad Teacher' is in Australian cinemas on July 21.
