Burned body in Glasgow park: Second man charged with murder

A second man has appeared in court charged with murder, following the death of a man whose charred remains were found at the site of a fire in a Glasgow city park.

The severely burned body of William Leiper, 31, was found in Househill Park in the Pollok area of Glasgow at 7.35am on August 4.

Christopher O’Reilly, 25, appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Tuesday.

He was charged with murder and attempting to defeat the ends of justice.

He was further charged with theft and two cases of fraud involving a credit or debit card.

No plea was entered and he was remanded in custody.

In August, 40-year-old Jude McPhie also appeared in court charged with murder following the death.

He made no plea and was remanded in custody.
