The Aussie multimillionaire is struggling to keep his composer after ending 2023 with a bang.

While picking up some items from Bunnings over the weekend, an Aussie man decided to swing past his local newsagent and buy a Saturday X Lotto ticket. The split-second decision made him a multimillionaire.

The day after his impulsive decision to enter into the $30 million lottery draw, he received a phone call from The Lott officials, ending 2023 with a bang. The Adelaide resident admitted the $2.3 million windfall is a "bit of good news" just in time for the new year.

Man calls his lottery win a 'surreal' end to 2023

The man said he was trying to remain composed despite learning he was one of 13 division one winning entries in Saturday X Lotto draw 4429 after purchasing his ticket at Pimpala Newsagency & Gifts in Woodcroft — a suburb in the city's south.

"I'm trying to stay cool, calm and collected. I don't think it’s fully sunk in yet," he said. "I got on the computer this morning and checked my ticket and couldn't believe it! It's pretty surreal!" He has big plans to invest his winnings but a "new car" could also be on the horizon.

The winning numbers in Saturday X Lotto draw 4429 were 39, 38, 3, 2, 11 and 23, while the supplementary numbers were 22 and 35. The Woodcroft man was the only division one winner in South Australia. There were another four winners each in NSW and Victoria, two in WA and one each in Queensland and the Northern Territory.

There has been 176 millionaires created this year thanks to Saturday X Lotto. "What a way to finish the year," the newest member of the club told The Lott.
