'Oh my God': Mum learns of $1 million Lotto win during school run

A Brisbane mum was stopped in her tracks on Thursday morning after learning she had won a $1 million Lotto prize while dropping her kids off at school.

The woman won the division one prize in the Monday and Wednesday Gold Lotto draw 4081 on Wednesday night.

She pulled over so she could take the exciting phone call while her children sat in the backseat, The Lott said.

“Oh my God! Oh my God!” she shrieked before thanking the person on the line profusely.

Family now able to buy a house after Lotto win

The “happy and excited” mum said her family plan on buying a house with their newfound wealth.

“Oh my goodness. Oh my goodness! I can’t believe I will finally be able to buy a house,” she said.

She bought the ticket at the The Tobacco Shop in Coorparoo, in the city's inner southeast.

“This is the first division-one winning entry we’ve sold, and it’s so great to hear this prize has gone to one of our locals,” shop owner Himesh Trikamji said.

The winning numbers in the Monday and Wednesday Gold Lotto draw 4081 were 27, 26, 38, 44 and 28, while the supplementary numbers were 12 and 41.

Last week, a Sydney mum was shocked to discover during her morning school run she had bagged a $2.5 million Lotto prize.

The woman, who is one of four people who won a division-one prize in Saturday’s Lotto draw 4155, said she cried with happiness after checking her ticket.
