A Sydney mum was shocked to discover during her Wednesday morning school run that she had bagged a $2.5 million Lotto prize.
The woman, who is one of four people who won a division-one prize in Saturday’s Lotto draw 4155, said she cried with happiness after checking her ticket.
She told The Lott on Wednesday she had made the stunning discovery after dropping her kids off at school.
“I checked my ticket at a newsagency and they told me the prize was too big to pay out.
“This morning I did the school run and then I thought I better check the ticket again, so I pulled over and checked it.
“I had a feeling I’d won something big but I never thought this big!
“I’m sitting in the car. I can’t believe it!”
The mum said her entire body felt numb after the incredible news.
Narwee newsagency sells another winning ticket
She told The Lott she planned on paying off her mortgage with the money and can now retire.
“I can help my children, I can help everyone,” she said.
Mandy Tiaw, the owner of Broadarrow Newsagency and Tobacconist in Narwee where the ticket was purchased, said she was thrilled by the news.
“We’ve put up posters and we’ve got balloons everywhere. We’ve also been sharing the news with our customers," she said.
“We last sold a $50 million Powerball division one winning entry in 2018. So, in three years, we have sold two division-one winning entries,” she said.
The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 4155 on 15 May 2021 were 19, 16, 5, 41, 15 and 20, while the supplementary numbers were 4 and 21.
Across Australia, there were four division-one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 4155 – one each from Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Western Australia.
