Boy, 6, tragically dies in horrific NSW car crash
A six-year-old boy has died after a single-vehicle crash south of Wagga Wagga in the NSW Riverina.
Emergency services attended Holbrook Road, near Paper Forest Road, at Mangoplah about 12.15pm on Saturday after reports of a crash.
A Mitsubishi Triton was travelling northbound on Holbrook Road when it appears to have left the roadway and hit a tree.
The driver – a 28-year-old man – was treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries and taken to Wagga Wagga Base Hospital.
Meanwhile the passenger, a six-year-old boy, died at the scene.
A crime scene has been established and Southern Region Crash Investigation Unit are attending.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.
Holbrook Road was closed in both directions and motorists were advised to use alternate routes or delay their travels.
Investigations are continuing.
