Boy, 6, dies after 'falling from dad's lap on ride-on lawnmower'
A six-year-old boy has died after he allegedly fell off a lawnmower his father was driving and became pinned under a tractor.
Officers were called to a property in Port Arthur, in Texas, on Thursday (local time) to discover the young child with serious injuries, US news outlet 12 News reported.
He was rushed to Christus St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Beaumont, northwest of Port Arthur, where he was later pronounced dead.
The Chief of Port Arthur Police revealed to 12 News the boy’s father had been mowing the lawn with the child in his lap before the six-year-old boy fell from the small vehicle.
Officers found the child pinned under a tractor at the property, US television station KFDM reported.
A crime scene was set up at the address where investigations are ongoing.
