Heartwarming news for baby rescued after being dumped in a plastic bag

Days after a newborn baby was rescued from being dumped in a plastic bag and thrown to the side of a road, more than 1000 people have asked authorities to adopt her.

The offer from strangers have flooded in after confronting police bodycam footage captured the moment the infant was found on June 6, in Forsyth County, Georgia.

Strangers from across the United States and as far as the UK have reportedly contacted police in Georgia with offers to help or provide a home for the baby, who the community has named Baby India.

“It’s amazing the number of people who are looking to take on a new life into their families,” Forsyth County Sheriff Ron Freeman told NBC’s Today Show.

“And we got somebody who tried to throw one away.”

Police recently released the dramatic footage of Baby India’s rescue hoping it might lead to finding out who abandoned her.

“She is a tough little girl and she is doing well,” Sheriff Freeman said.

Baby India is believed to be doing well in a foster home.
