New Year's Eve weather: Rain and storms to dampen the party

The east coast of Australia including Brisbane and Sydney is due for a wet New Year’s Eve with rainy conditions doing their best to spoil the party.

It wouldn’t be 2020 without somewhat of a dampener to close the year.

Weatherzone meteorologist Ben Domensino told Yahoo News Australia on Wednesday a low pressure trough moving across eastern Australia will meet a stream of moisture in the north leading to rain on December 31 and the following day.
