Arrest made after woman dies on footpath outside Sydney unit block

Police have made an arrest in connection with the death of a woman in the Sydney suburb of Zetland on Monday night.

A 23-year-old female was found with fatal injuries outside an apartment block in the inner city suburb about 8.45pm.

Emergency services were called to Rose Valley Way after neighbours reported hearing a commotion and a woman screaming, Nine News reported.

Officers from Redfern Police Area Command discovered a 23-year-old woman at the rear of the unit complex and attempted to revive her, but she died at the scene.

On Tuesday morning, police released images of a woman they believed may be able to assist with inquiries.

Following assistance from the public, officers located a white Mercedes at Sea Cliff Bridge, north of Wollongong about 3.30pm.

A 29-year-old woman was arrested near the vehicle and is assisting police with inquires. The car has been secured for forensic examination.
