Mum's fury after 11-year-old daughter falls pregnant

A mum is furious after her 11-year-old fell pregnant allegedly to a 20-year-old neighbour.

The mum, who hasn’t been named but lives in the US state of Arizona, told Fox 10 she called the police “three times” knowing her daughter was seeing the man.

Court documents name the man as Carlos Jacinto Cobo-Perez. He is said to live in the same apartment block as the family.

"Her mentality isn't aware, she's a little girl and it doesn't take much to convince her because he knew how to manipulate her," the mum told Fox 10.

The mum added her daughter would not have an abortion. She’s seven months pregnant.

She also claims police ignored her concerns and she was told “they couldn’t do anything”.

According to Arizona’s state law, no one can consent to sex until they are 18. It means Cobo-Perez could be charged with statutory rape.

He’s been charged with sexual conduct with a minor, according to ABC15. He was arrested on May 17.

Court documents also state Cobo-Perez knew what he was doing was wrong, but told the girl in a letter discovered by her father “he didn’t care if he went to jail”.

Police also spoke with Cobo-Perez over the phone in December a month after the girl’s mum found a hickey on her neck, according to news site AZ Central.

They told him to stay away from her.

A court filing obtained by the news site states the girl told authorities she had intercourse with Cobo-Perez in a car.

He will face court on Tuesday (local time).
