Pair arrested over Melbourne carjacking that left teen disfigured trying to save dog

Police have arrested a man and a woman following a violent carjacking in Frankston on Monday night in which a teen was left badly injured trying to save her puppy, still in the back seat.

Taylor Hall, 18, suffered facial injuries after her red convertible was stolen on Frankston-Cranbourne Road about 7.30pm.

Ms Hall was dragged 30 metres along the bitumen, scraping her face and smashing several teeth as the thieves drove the vehicle away.

A police car was also rammed during the incident and a 35-year-old Seaford woman was arrested at the scene.

Special Operations Group officers arrested a 30-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman on Amberley Crescent in Dandenong South about 5.45pm on Wednesday.

The pair, both from Skye, are currently in custody.

Speaking from her hospital bed, the 18-year-old said two men had yelled at her to "get out of the car“ before they jumped in and drove off, with the young woman still hanging on.

The convertible sped down the wrong side of a busy road, weaving in and out of traffic before it crashed.

Ms Hall will need plastic surgery and extensive dental work to fix her broken teeth.

She said she didn't think twice about risking her life to save her rescue puppy Luna, who was later found in the backyard of a nearby property.

“I would have held on for longer [but] as soon as I hit that curb, I was flung off and went smack into the concrete," she told 7 News.

Witness Rebecca Sparrow said: “I just jumped out of the way and then when I watched the video back, I was just in shock. I could have been taken out as well.

“[Ms Hall] was just screaming ‘My dog, my dog, my dog’. That's the only words I could get out of her.”
