Restaurant boasts business is 'booming' after 'racist' menu backlash
A restaurant accused of giving their meals racist menu names has taken to social media to boast about their booming business.
Asian fusion Christchurch restaurant Bamboozle was last week accused of being racially insensitive after they features meals such as Ho Lee Kok, Chirri Garrik, Prawn Dumpring, Cori Frower and Velly Special.
The restaurant downplayed the accusations, insisting the menu was simply “part of the experience” offering dishes such as Yumm Ee Kouw Patt and Luff U'long Time Phat Thai.
However after a photo of the menu began to circulate on Twitter, the restaurant was inundated with abusive comments.
"This is disgusting and embarrassing, but then again it is Chch so I'm not really surprised," one person commented on the tweet showing the menu.
"It's a racist joke born out of wilful ignorance with an end goal of having people laugh at Asian people's inability to pronounce words correctly," comedian James Roque added.

Seemingly undeterred by the backlash, the restaurant took to social media to share a photo of their booming business
"First sitting tonight full…boom," they wrote alongside the photo.
Others threw their support behind the restaurant's latest post.
"I'm Asian and I'm booking a flight to come eat there. Food looks dericious," one man wrote.
Good on you Bamboozle awesome place I love it," another added.
The restaurant has since disabled their Facebook reviews.
