Unsettling footage has captured the moment two people, believed to be under the influence of synthetic cannabis, or 'Spice', stumble along a footpath in the UK, with one of them almost getting hit by a car.

The video, which was filmed by a motorist, shows just how close one man came to stepping into oncoming traffic at the junction of Wellington Street and Freeman Street in Grimsby.

The drug leaves users barely able to move, putting them into a near-catatonic state.

Video shows one man on one side of the road and another man on the other side, both making similar movements, swaying back and fourth and attempting to walk forward.

One person is thought to be a woman who was later allegedly linked to a bag of drugs found abandoned in the area by passing pole dancers, the Grimsby Telegraph reports.

Footage shows the other person, believed to be a man, stumble onto the road just moments before a car comes past.

It's understoood the use of the powerful drug has been growing in the area.
