Welfare recipient spent money on fast food and let leftovers rot in her home

A UK welfare tenant has left a sea of rotting fast food leftovers and a fly infestation for the agent to clean up.

Letting agent Aimee was called to the Leeds property after neighbours complained of a horrific rubbish smell during a bout of warm weather.

As part of the program Britain’s Benefit Tenants on Channel 4, Aimee filmed the moment she entered the house to a sea of empty takeaway cartons and a filthy bathroom.

“This is by far the worst I’ve ever had to deal with,” Aimee told the program.

Footage shows containers on the floor of the bathroom and a dark powder, believed to be cosmetics, covering the sink.

"The tables are all over the place, it's actually sad to see," she said.

Aimee said the tenants had been paying rent on time, but said they stopped communication a year ago.

On arrival at the property, the tenants were not home and the letting agent said she would need to get in touch with social services to help.
