Sydney parking ranger filmed issuing fines while illegally parked

A Sydney parking ranger has been busted issuing fines, while he was parked illegally.

The ranger has received a formal warning, but was caught red-handed again on Wednesday doing the same thing.

The Canada Bay Council parking ranger was on patrol in Concord West while breaking the law.

The council rakes in more than $3 million a year in parking fines.

Since 2011, it's stung drivers $19.6 million.

“You wanna give fines out and you've actually parked in No Parking?” he was asked.

"That's disgusting, mate,” another said.

Locals allege the employee has been taking them for a ride dubbing him the “Nazi of parking”.

On Wednesday it was claimed that in a one-hour zone, every car was checked… while the ranger’s car sat parked for at least three hours.

“I think his watch might be off by about ten minutes so he seems to write down the wrong times,” one claimed.

The ranger had patrolled the area for some time and many drivers have had dealings with him.

“It's one rule for him and others doing it wrong, we get pinned for it,” one claimed.

Canada Bay Council rakes in more than 3 million dollars a year in parking fines.

Since 2011, it's stung drivers $19.6 million.

The council has told 7 News it's aware of this incident and the parking ranger in question was issued a warning.

Management says it understands that a ranger's job can be difficult but this behaviour is unacceptable.
