'Can't have her cake and eat it too': Corby storms to social media fame then requests privacy
Schapelle Corby has been accused of promoting double standards after rising to social media fame during her much publicised return to Australia but also requesting privacy.
Corby’s Bali exit became a media circus, not lessened by her immediate social media presence or the bizarre halloween masks seen emerging from her mother’s Brisbane home.
When her Indonesian nightmare began, MySpace not Instagram was prevalent, but it has not taken her long to get into the swing of the latest social media.
Discussing the hot topic on Channel 7’s Sunrise, commentator Cath Webber said Corby was being unrealistic in thinking she could have her cake and eat it too.
“You can’t come out and say we just want privacy and dignity, and then have clown masks and being a complete circus at their house,” she told Sunrise.
Corby has acquired 144,000 followers while requesting her privacy.
Discussing the hot topic on Channel 7’s Sunrise, commentator Cath Webber said Corby was being unrealistic in thinking she could have her cake and eat it too.
“You can’t then be on Instagram and posting video of a photo journalist falling over and falling off walls, it’s just so convoluted.
“The Corby’s need to be careful, they’ve courted the Australian media and public for a very long time now, whether it was Mercedes being in a bikini on the front cover of Ralph… I would have thought one quick press conference thanking the Australian public for all their support and now we want privacy.”

Questioning who paid for the Corby’s celebrity style return to Australia, 3AW Radio personality Justin Smith said he was keen on hearing Schapelle’s story but not from “her bogan family”.
“I would dearly love to hear right in the middle of her story,” he told Sunrise.

Responding to claims that the media took the Corby coverage too far, Ms Turner said it was a catch 22 and that until the Corby family put various rumours to bed, it would continue.
“Address the media, address the public for two minutes say ‘look I want my privacy’… it’s over the top but you can understand from a media point of view, when they are doing all this crazy stuff and they have clown masks, it’s a circus.”
As of Monday morning, Corby's Instagram had ten posts and more than 147,000 followers.
