Man charged over terrifying Melbourne service station abduction

A man has been charged after a woman was dragged by her hair into a car during a terrifying abduction at a Melbourne service station.

Cameras caught the moment the woman was “forcibly pulled into a car” at the Fitzgerald Road service station around 11.30pm on Thursday night.

The 23-year-old victim was later found around 12pm on Friday, allegedly with the same man who pulled her into the vehicle in Derrimut.

According to police, the man is known to the woman.

The woman sustained non-life threatening injuries and has received medical care following the 12-hour ordeal.

The accused kidnapper, a 24-year-old from Gordon, has been charged with a number of offences including false imprisonment, possessing a firearm and drug possession.

He appeared in a Melbourne court on Friday afternoon and has been remanded in custody to appear in court on Tuesday.
