Autistic man upstages street performers by doing his 'Lecky leg dance'

A man was filmed upstaging a group of street performers in the UK by doing his famous "Lecky Leg dance" which helps him cope with his autism and epilepsy.

The street performers were hoping to impress the crowd with their limbo skills in Liverpool's city centre but were outdone when the 48-year-old man performed his eccentric dance moves.

Members of the crowd cheer “come on lad” and “go Lecky” as the man, with a shopping bag in his hand, twists and kicks his legs to the beat.

The performers also stop what they are doing to cheer him on.

Mike Campbell - known as Lecky Legs - is a local celebrity and his impressive dance style has been filmed on multiple occasions around town, Liverpool Echo reported.

Lecky used to dance in his own home, but one year ago he decided to share his talent and his fame has exploded across the world.

Jeff Ollerhead is one of his good friends and said dancing helps him cope with his autism.

“Lecky has had quite a hard life, he's slightly autistic and has mild epilepsy, but when he dances all his troubles fade away,” he told the newspaper.

“Kids are starting to recognise him in the street and the other week we had people from America in the bar that had already heard of him.”
