‘Australians will be killed’: Lindt Café gunman coaches partner through deluded video

Video showing the deluded rants of Lindt Café gunman Man Monis’s partner have been played during the woman’s murder trial.

Amirah Droudis is accused of stabbing Monis’ former wife 18 times, then setting her body on fire at a Sydney apartment in 2013.

Prosecutors say the video shows Drudis’s support for extremism, and shows she was besotted and “brainwashed” by the self-styled sheikh Monis to the extent that she would kill.

“Australians will be killed, Australians will be killed, Australians will be killed, allahu akbar,” she states.

But the video, shown to a Sydney court on Friday, show Droudis was not a natural in front of the camera.

“No I can’t. I don’t know what to say and I made a mistake,” Droudis is filmed saying.

“Doesn’t matter … you can start again, when you make a mistake … I can edit it,” Monis can be heard telling Droudis.

The hate-fuelled video was later uploaded to Monis’ website.

“We appreciate the Bali bombers. Thank you Bali bombers,” she says.

The Crown case against Droudis wrapped up in court on Friday with the defence to finish its case next week.
