‘$20 million prize’: Tradie from Gold Coast wins lotto, immediately retires
There's a new millionaire tradie on the Gold Coast and he’s said it’s time to hang up the tool belt.
The lucky winner reportedly walked off the work site this morning never to return after scoring a cool $20 million overnight during the draw.
The new millionaire said he now plans to pay off his mortgage, complete some major renovations and spend his days relaxing on the golf course.
He serendipitously purchased his 50-game QuickPick from Paradise Point News.
The seemingly lucky spot now can boast three division one winning entries within the past 14 months.
The winner of the huge cash haul is reportedly ecstatic.
He was at work when he received a phone call out of the blue from Golden Casket with the welcome news, informing him he was an instant millionaire.
“This has got to be a wind-up! Is this real? This is bloody unbelievable!” the new millionaire said.
“Oh my god! Please mind my language but this is (expletive) awesome!

“You know what, I thought you were a telemarketer or something. This is a much better phone call than I could have ever expected!”
“I’ve been a construction worker all my life but I’ll definitely hang up the tool belt now!” he said.
“This better not be a wind-up since I’m saying goodbye to the blokes at work now, because I’m never coming back here!”
When the winning tradie was asked what he planned to do with the massive haul he immediately responded with several ideas.
“First I’ll pay off my house and finally get around to doing some big scale renovations,” he said.
“Then I’ll spend my days playing golf because I love it and I’ll actually have the time and money to be good now!”
The millionaire tradie has decided to remain anonymous.
The lucky numbers in Oz Lotto’s $20 million draw 1168 on Tuesday night were 43, 41, 37, 14, 9, 2 and 31.
The supplementary numbers were 1 and 17.
After four weeks of jackpotting, the Oz Lotto prize reached $20 million for last night’s draw and will offer a $2 million division one prize next Tuesday.
