Accused killer Harriet Wran settles out of court following legal battle over father's $40million fortune
Accused killer Harriet Wran and her brother have settled out of court following a legal battle with their half sister over their late father's $40million fortune.
From behind the bars of Silverwater Women's Correctional Centre Ms Wran and her younger sibling Hugo took action against Kim Wran Sheftell over their share of the fortune left by their father Neville Wran.
Daily Mail reports the pair took court action against their older sister 'over their slice of the fortune left by their father'
Harriet Langley Wran, 27, will face trial in June, almost two years after she and two co-accused allegedly murdered Daniel John McNulty in Redfern.
In November she entered pleas of not guilty to several charges, including murder, during a brief appearance before the NSW Supreme Court.
Former Premier Wran died in 2014 following a battle with dementia. When he died he divided his $40million estate among his children and his wife, Jill Wran.
He was famous for rubbing shoulders with royalty and a glittering career that included dancing with Princess Diana and Princess Mary at the Victor Chang Cardiac Institute charity ball.
Wran's youngest children were reportedly due to inherit 'equal halves' of their dad's share portfolio and their parents' $10 million property portfolio.
Daily Mail reports that properties have been placed into a trust fund and cannot be accessed until Harriet and Hugo are 30.
They will also only inherit the properties after the death of their mother Jill who is currently 67.
The will's three executors include Mr Wran's daughter from his first marriage, Kim Wran Sheftell.
As well as being accused of the August 2014 murder, Ms Wran has been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and robbery in company.
It's been alleged that she and her co-accused stabbed Brett Fitzgerald and stole $600 from him.
Ms Wran, whose godfather was the late billionaire Kerry Packer, was born in 1988 into a privileged existence created by her barrister turned high-profile politician father and his glamorous academic second wife, Jill Hickson.
Her father is one of Australia's most celebrated politicians.
The Labor Party icon was the New South Wales Premier from 1976 to 1986.
