Police were called at about 3:20pm to break up the brawl and arrested six teenagers - four boys and two girls.
Witnesses told 7 News that after one of the boys was arrested, his brother assaulted police.
“The younger brother was pretty much the one who started it and the older brother came in and started pushing the police officer who arrested his brother,” he told 7 News.
“Thats when it started, all of their friends jumping in and a lot of crowd getting around.”
Several families were forced to stay inside the shopping centre, too afraid to go outside as more than 100 teenagers began to gather.
Those arrested were accused of resisting police and intimidation, and they were brought to Bankstown Police Station and issue with youth cautions.
It follows a violent few weeks for Australian youths that has seen a number of fight-related incidents between school students go viral online.
