E-cigarette battery explodes in man's pants

A man in the US has reportedly received second-degree burns after an e-cigarette battery have exploded in his pocket.

CCTV pictures show the man in Owensboro, Kentucky, lining up at the counter of a store when sparks can be seen shooting out of the pocket of his pants.

The man then appears to be frantically pulling things out of his pocket while he quickly rushes towards the door.

An employee in the store is startled by the incident before the man rushes out the exit of the store in front of him.

The man is later seen ripping off his pants outside the store before he gives them to a woman helping him - all while another man sprays him with the fire extinguisher.

American media outlets claim the man received second-degree burns and was treated in hospital for his injuries.
