Beloved animals getting their well deserved freedom

This is the touching moment rescue dog Pocket walked on fresh grass for the first time in his life.

Pocket's new owner Martyn Stewart has set up a Facebook page called Pocket for Change which details his painful life journey so far and now how things are changing.

The mastiff was one was of 100 dogs rescued from a meat farm in South Korea by the Humane Society International and Change for Animals in September.

Pocket's owner has also set up a YouTube page being used to post lots of 'first' videos including the pooch's first time walking on grass, chewing a stick and drinking water from a bowl.

Pocket, who has been re-located to San Francisco, had spent his entire life in a cage until the rescue.

His story is part of a wider campaign to end the dog meat trade.

The video is a reminder of the simple pleasures for some animals who have spent their locked in cages in captivity.

Footage shared by the Rancho dos Gnomos Santuário in Brazil shows the thrilling moment a lion named Will experienced the feeling of soil and grass beneath his feet for the very first time.

Prior to being rescued and taken to the sanctuary in 2005, Will had been forced to perform with a travelling circus for 13 long years.

In January 2015 the ban of wild animals in circuses came into effect in Bulgaria and FOUR PAWS International was able to rescue the last Bulgarian circus tiger.

This is the memorable moment she walked on grass for the first time.
