Puppy swallows $50,000 engagement ring

Grizzly is one hungry dog with very expensive taste - 2.5 carats in fact.

When Susan Brewer's sparkler went missing, the family launched an immediate search of their Black Rock home.

"We were searching all through the yard, Mum was really stressed, we didn't think we would find it," son Sam told 7 News.

All eyes then turned to Grizzly, who was quickly dispatched to the local vet.

And it was crystal clear who the culprit was.

"It's always one of those wow moments," Dr Jessica Ierardo told 7 News.

"You go 'wow' and then you switch back into vet mode to make sure it's not causing problems."

While the family was happy to know the location of the ring, they then realised there was only one way to retrieve the precious piece of jewellery.

And while the ring is now back in its rightful place, the disgraced Grizzly is well and truly in the doghouse
