The price was right but the prize could not be more wrong.

Game shows have been the scenes of many awkward moments over the years but US Price is Right host Drew Carey found himself at the epicentre of one of the best this week.

Contestant Danielle Perez rolled onto stage in her wheelchair, told Drew how excited she was, won the game and then rolled away the proud owner of a brand new treadmill.

Perez has no feet but she is in possession of a world-class sense of humour, and has so far achieved incredible mileage from a device that should have proven completely useless.

Far from being upset, Perez, who is in fact an up and coming comic when she’s not contesting game shows, is making the most of her new found fame.

Instead of becoming a public relations nightmare, the episode has become a viral hit and sent the young comedian on the path to internet fame.

Even Carey, a veteran comic himself, has been getting in on the action.
