Shopping store Santa facing sex charges

A shopping store Santa accused of molesting a child in December is facing a string of other underage sex crimes.

The 75-year-old homeless man has been charged with the aggravated indecent assault of a seven-year-old child at the Southgate Shopping Centre at Morphett Vale in Adelaide’s south on December 18, while he was working as a store Santa.

He has now also been charged with sex attacks on as many as five other children between June and December last year, at Warradale, Davoren Park and Reynella.

He is also charged with producing and possessing child pornography at Warradale on December 18.

During a brief hearing at the Christies beach Magistrates Court this morning, two changes were made to his bail application.

He must now live at a city homeless shelter, and he is no longer permitted to be in the company of his granddaughter - or any other children under 16 years.

His identity has been suppressed and he is due back in court in March.
