Nanny cam catches babysitter beating child
A hidden camera has exposed an Argentine nanny who hit a two-year-old boy while he was strapped in his high chair.
Footage shows Eve Mantaras slapping the terrified toddler repeatedly over the head, before taking his dinner and eating it in front of him.
The child’s mother, Cristina Ceril, installed the secret camera after she discovered bruises on her young son.
She linked it to her smartphone so she could monitor Mantaras while she was out of the home.
Ms Ceril’s neighbours had also warned her that they often heard her two children crying when they were left alone with the nanny.
“We always thought she was a bit lazy around the house but we never imagined for a second that she was violent too,” Ms Ceril told the Daily Mail.
“It now makes my blood run cold to think what she might have been doing.
“She is sick.”
Mantaras is facing criminal assault and child abuse charges.
Prosecutors say the video will be used as evidence against the 25-year-old.
