Winter style on show in Claremont

The wet weather today has reminded Perth residents that winter really is just around the corner. Hard to believe, considering the recent dry spell.

To celebrate the launch of their winter collections, designs by fashion labels including Breathless, ae'lkemi, Bettina Liano, Leona Edmiston and Wayne Cooper will be on show at an invitation-only event in Claremont next week.

Stylist and Perth Fashion Week director Sylvia Giacci said the event would highlight winter pieces from designers with stores at Times Square in Claremont.

"Cementing its position as a premier shopping destination in WA, Times Square has paved its way as an eclectic fusion of fashion, food and lifestyle," Giacci said.

"This boutique street has fast become a much sought after location from Eastern States retailers wishing to have a presence in Claremont.

"With such a high demand, Times Square will be undergoing some refurbishments to accommodate more stores."

About 400 people are expected to attend next week's event, which will also give guests a "taste of what is to come" for Perth Fashion Week 2012.

"Perth Fashion Week will be actively involved in promoting fashion events and designers throughout 2011 as a prelude to its launch in February 2012," Giacci said.

Ten models from Vivien's and Chadwick modelling agencies would present the winter fashion to guests, Giacci said.
