Las Vegas veteran Celine Dion wants Britney Spears to find the right work/family balance ahead of her residency in Sin City.

Dion has been performing her sell-out shows at Caesars Palace since 2011.

It seems the Canadian singer has every faith in Spears, who is set to start her new Las Vegas residency in December.

"What I wish for her, especially as a mother, is for her to find wonderful people who can help her find a balance between the artist that she is and the mother.

"And to try and find an emotional balance to cope with those two and be the best of both worlds. I think she can really do it!" Dion told ET Canada.

Dion's original Vegas show A New Day ran for five years, and racked up a total of 700 performances, which were seen by three million people.

Even with the credentials to back her up, when it came to dishing out advice, Dion shied away from telling Spears what to do in Vegas.

"I don't think she needs any advice from me! She's been there, she's been on stage, she's shook it all out! She's very talented and knows exactly what to do," she said.

Last month, 31-year-old Spears announced a two-year residency at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.

The deal is reportedly worth $US15 million ($A16.13 million).
