Schwarzenegger's whirlwind Perth visit

Terminator star Arnold Schwarzenegger touched down in Perth today ahead of a motivational speaking engagement in the city.

People have paid nearly $1000 each to hear the screen legend speak at Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre tonight.

Schwarzenegger, a philanthropist who has had a successful film and political career, will then join guests who have paid $10,000 to dine with him after his motivational speech.

The former Governor of California is the headline speaker at Jamie McIntyre's 21st Century Financial Education Summits around Australia.

The summits have previously hosted Sir Richard Branson and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg's sister Randi.

"Australia is one of my favourite countries in the world and the people there are always so friendly and welcoming," Schwarzenegger said in the lead-up to the event.

"Sydney will always be special for me as it's the city that I won the title of Mr Olympia for the final time."
