Perry just 'friends' with Pattinson
Katy Perry has revealed she texted Kristen Stewart in a panic to assure her there was nothing going on between her and the Twilight's star's ex-boyfriend, Robert Pattinson.
In May, a number of media reports suggested Perry and Pattinson were an item after the pair were spotted together several times following his high-profile split from Stewart, which is said to have left the 23-year-old actress "devastated" and "heartbroken".
In a candid interview in the September issue of Elle UK magazine, where the 28-year-old pop star appears in a seductive high-fashion shoot, right, she hit back at the rumours and insisted she was just comforting a friend.
"I sent her a text message saying 'I know you've seen all this stuff but you know I would never disrespect you. I'm not that person. I'm just trying to be a friend to him," she said.
Perry - who is reportedly gearing up to release an album in October - is going steady with on/off boyfriend and notorious womaniser John Mayer.
