Beau Ryan takes time off from Footy Show amid affair claims
Former NRL star turned TV larrikin Beau Ryan has reportedly stood down from the Footy Show, following accusations of a fling with a former children's television star.
Ex-Hi-5 star and I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here contestant Lauren Brant was linked to the former Cronulla and Wests star in a recent magazine interview with Bryant's ex, in which he claimed to have ended their relationship following revelations of a tryst between the two.
According to the reports, 26-year-old Bryant came clean to her then fiance Warren Riley about sleeping with Ryan, 30, while she and former partner were on holidays in New Zealand.
Riley said her admission came after he discovered text messages between Brant and Ryan shortly after they starred together in a Sydney theatre company production of Aladdin and his Wondrous Lamp earlier this year.
While reports have now emerged that Ryan will take time off from his regular role on the NRL Footy Show, neither he nor Brant have yet been drawn to speak on the claims.
A statement from The Footy Show said there would be no comments on Ryan's behalf.
"Beau and his family are on holiday spending much needed time together and we have no comment to make on their personal life," it said.
Bryant also appears to be brushing off the claims, making no public statements despite a series of social media posts being published to her accounts following the accusations.
