Ticketek slammed as Adele fans miss out, scalpers cash in

Ticketek Australia has been slammed on social media after thousands of Adele fans were left stranded, and in some cases, without tickets they thought they'd paid for.

Just a week after the same debacle with tickets to see Jerry Seinfeld, Australian fans have been left frustrated as scalpers flood the market with tickets up to 10-times what they cost.

But the biggest problem for many fans was the fact Ticketek had withdrawn money from accounts, and some of those fans were without tickets after a website delay.

"Please explain why I had 4 x reserve seats selected and then went to payment page lost all connections, then I could not log back in. So tickets I HAD were lost. You are a pathetic site and seems this happened to a lot of people. If you offered the same seats to a lot of other people at the same time and whoever got in first got them, then I will be going to fair trading to complain. You offered me those tickets to me and should have been mine until I made the payment," one user said.

Adele tickets being resold for outrageous prices

"The worst service ever! Bought tickets online and took money off my credit card and the system crash and money is taken from my account! Lost our chance to get our tickets!!!!! No confirmation email nor Confirmation number! TICKETEK AUSTRALIA GET YOUR SYSTEM IN ORDER! Am I still going to get my tickets? I'm not sure as it isn't in our order history either. However it showed confirm purchased!" another said.

"So angry to hear that others have had the same issues as myself . Purchased tickets got the confirmation screen to say they were purchased . Money taken out account (twice) . Purchased flights , booked accommodation and now sitting here ticketless . Thanks Ticketek," one Adele fan said.

"Ticketek you have taken money from my credit card, but nothing in my account and nothing in my emails," another posted.

"(Ticketek) seems to have charged my credit card even though I didn't get tickets. Then I did try again and was able to get tickets. Except now I have basically been charged twice with only one set of tickets and don't know what to do," one user commented.

Ticketek did post in response to some of the complaints, asking users to check their order history.

But with hundreds of angry comments, not all have been responded to.

Fans in Perth were also sad to see scalpers selling tickets online after they missed out, but those tickets were sold through LiveNation and not Ticketek.

A change.org petition has now been set up to stop scalpers buying tickets to Australian shows and then reselling them for giant profits.
