Award-winning cameraman arrested for child sex crimes

An award-winning Sydney cameraman who has worked with some of the world's most successful directors has faced court, accused of being a paedophile.

Nathan Matthew Tomlinson is charged with having sex with a young girl, and making and showing child abuse material.

Tomlinson is considered a superstar behind-the-lens, with his aerial cinematography skills being sought by the most well-renowned Hollywood directors.

He has now been accused of making child porn, and worse.

The 36-year-old was arrested on Friday in Mascot, in Sydney's southeast, with his unit raided, plus his car and computer ceased.

On Saturday, Tomlinson appeared at Parramatta Local Court via video link, charged with aggravated sexual intercourse with a 13-year old and having sex with the same girl when she was 14 and 15.

He was also charged on three counts of possession of child abuse material, allegedly taking sexual photos of her and showing her child pornography.

The period of which these offences have been said to have been committed stretch more than two years.

Tomlinson has worked with top flight Hollywood directors such as Steven Spielberg and James Cameron. He also filmed parts of the most recent X-Men movie.

He will remain in custody before facing Sydney's Central Local Court via video-link on October 18 charged with the string of child sex abuse offences.
