Son pranks mum with fake billion dollar lottery ticket win

Nursing home staff in California were celebrating a billion dollar lottery ticket after one of their staff members scored the jackpot - or so they thought.

It was reported a lucky 62-year-old mum of seven won the prize after her generous boss supplied 18,000 tickets for all of his staff and patients in his chain of health and wellness centres.

Staff of the Park Avenue Healthcare and Wellness in Pomona celebrated her 'win' yesterday, unaware of the prank.

Manager David Levy even chatted with enthusiasm to reporters saying she was gobsmacked.

“Her reaction was that she didn’t believe it. She then pulled out her ticket and reviewed it with two other nurses — number by number,” said Mr Levy.

“And then she freaked out.”

Shlomo Rechnitz owns a chain of health and wellness centre in California and apparently purchased 18,000 tickets for all of his staff and patients.

This generous act isn't the first from Mr Rechnitz, who purchased a $50 meal for 400 soldiers he saw at an airport.
