Guns, drugs found in NSW public toilet

Two teenagers have been charged after police found stolen guns, ammunition and drugs in a public toilet north of Sydney.

Police charged the two males, aged 15 and 19, after they were found with firearms in a toilet block near Lake Macquarie on Friday night.

The discovery was made in Lions Park at Toronto after reports from members of the public who allegedly saw the teens carrying firearms.

The 19-year-old was allegedly found in a toilet cubicle with cannabis, a bullet and replica pistol in his backpack, along with five long-arm firearms .

Police allege the teen stole the weapons from a house in Fennell Bay earlier that day.

He was charged with stealing, unauthorised possession of firearms and ammunition, possessing a knife in a public place and possession of prohibited drugs.

He has been refused bail and will appear at Newcastle Local Court on Saturday.

The 15-year-old was also refused bail after he was charged with possessing a knife in a public place.

He will face a children's court on Saturday.
