Inspiring mum ticks off her bucket list

A Melbourne woman diagnosed with incurable breast cancer is on an inspiring mission to fulfill her bucket list.

Tracey was first diagnosed with breast cancer four years ago and, despite surgery and treatment, it has spread and is now incurable.

"I want to do a hot air balloon ride, I want to go and swim with and feed the dolphins,” she said.

“When we found out it was going downhill, we decided to do the old bucket list.”

Tracey has climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge, but her ultimate goal is to see her daughter Erin walk down the aisle in September.

"I want to see my daughter get married, I just want to live,” Tracey said.

Tracey’s son Leigh helps care for his mum.

“Those nights when she can't walk, that’s why we got the wheelchair, it’s unbearable to think that’s your mum," he said.

Even if she's in her wheelchair, Tracey won't miss this Saturday's Field of Women event at the MCG before the Melbourne Western Bulldogs game.

Tracey will be among 15,000 women in pink at Saturday's event, which is the same number likely to be diagnosed with breast cancer in Australia this year.

"The last one was in 2010, so it’s been four years since we've held this event, which makes it more special,” CEO of Breast Cancer Network Australia Maxine Morand said.

While facing her own battle, Tracey works tirelessly supporting other young women with breast cancer.

"She makes me really proud to have a mother like her,” Leigh said.
