England win toss, bat in sixth ODI

England captain Andrew Strauss won the toss and chose to bat first against Australia in the sixth one-day match at the SCG.

In warm conditions in Sydney, Australia brought in South Australia n duo Shaun Tait and Callum Ferguson for Doug Bollinger and Shaun Marsh, who has a hamstring injury.

Ferguson's recall to the team, to bat at No.3, provides him the chance to make a case for inclusion in the World Cup squad should Mike Hussey fail to recovery from a serious hamstring injury in time.

Tait plays his first match since suffering a glute strain during the second match of the series in Hobart.

England have recalled left-arm spinner Michael Yardy as the tourists battle a raft of injuries to their pace attack.

Ajmal Shahzad (hamstring) and Chris Tremlett (side strain) have both been ruled out of the remainder of the series, with Liam Plunkett en route from the England Lions tour of the Caribbean to be in the squad for the final match at Perth on Sunday.
