A 22-year-old man has jumped from the 39th floor of a New York City building and survived after crashing into a parked car, the New York Daily News reports.

Witnesses say Thomas Magill tried to take his own life by jumping from a West Side apartment block and landed in the back seat area of a Dodge Charger, shattering the back windshield.

"He came down feet-first at like 100 mph," witness Andrew Petrocelli told the newspaper.

"That's a miracle if I've ever seen one. He should be a goner. It was like that movie 'Unbreakable.' That was this guy: unbreakable."

"The car saved his life," Petrocelli stated.

"He landed in there like a stunt man. It was amazing."

The owner of the car, Guy McCormack believes the man survived due to divine intervention, convinced the rosary beads kept in his car saved his life.

Magill is currently in a critical condition, undergoing surgery for two broken legs.

According to reports, Magill studied music at Fordham University.
