Grafton man who pleaded to find wife's killer arrested

The husband of a NSW schoolteacher, who was arrested over her disappearance, made a tearful plea to find her killer in 2015.

Police arrestedJohn Edwards in Redcliffe, north of Brisbane, in relation to the disappearance of his wife, Grafton primary schoolteacher, Sharon Edwards in March 2015.

Mr Edwards’ arrest follows an emotional plea he made in 2015 for information about his missing wife.

“Someone out there must know some little something,” he said a month after her disappearance.

“I’ve just been sitting at home racking my brains out going crazy.”

Mr Edwards was arrested in Queensland after police received an envelope from his solicitor allegedly containing his wife’s car key.

She was last seen in Grafton and police will allege she was killed during an argument.

Police are now searching Mr Edwards’ house in Lawrence, north of Grafton.

Mr Edwards is expected to be extradited from Queensland to either Tweed Heads or Lismore.

His wife’s remains are yet to be found.
