'We're off to Disneyland': Struggling Perth family scoops entire $10m Lotto win

A struggling Perth family are planning a trip to Disneyland and searching for their dream home after winning $10 million in Lotto.

The young family, from the working class suburb of Armadale, were preparing for a modest Christmas before their fortunes changed.

"We follow a very strict budget and live pay-to-pay,” the couple, who have not been identified, said.

“We were preparing for a basic Christmas because we couldn't afford anything extravagant but that's all about to change now.”

The family said they had been looking at houses all night, with plans to buy a two-storey home with a pool.

The couple said they were even getting a family dog to go with the new home.

"We've been looking at houses all night and are blown away by what we can afford,” the couple said.

"It will have all the bells and whistles.

"This money guarantees our children a good start in life and they'll have everything they need including a great education."

The family had been buying Lotto tickets from the Brookdale agency every week before discovering they had the winning ticket.

"This amount is incredible. We can do anything,” the couple said.

The prize is the second largest to be won in WA this year, following a $40 million win in March.

The win comes just days after a single mother in Mandurah, in Perth’s south, claimed a Set for Life win, which is a prize of $20,000 each month.

"I was holding a cup of coffee when I saw I'd won and I started shaking so much my daughter needed to take my mug from me,” the woman said.
