Drunk man at stag night streaks through domestic violence rally

A drunk English man on a stag night has been arrested for streaking through a rally organised to raise awareness of violence against women.

A court has heard that the man was unaware that the event he crashed had been in particularly poor taste until after the fact.

Before the streaking event began Peter Barker drank nine pints of beer before graduating to shots.

Barker then stripped naked and ran into the crowd consisting primarily of women and children.

Barker was quickly arrested by authorities swiftly ending the stag party the Nottingham Post reports.

Barker told the court he started drinking around midday and mistakenly thought it was the early hours of the morning when he decided to streak.

However the actual time was 8pm.

He told the arresting officer the inapproiate display was “only for a laugh” and appeared somber inside the courtroom yesterday.

"Some degree of leeway extends to stag dos. People recognise that notwithstanding the celebratory nature of these events, one should not cause offence to other people," Deputy District
Judge Richard Marshall said.

"You said you were not aware of the demonstration but, given the number of people there, it is hard to accept, even in your drunken state, you were not aware of it at all."

Barker has been ordered to pay costs and has been sentenced to 80 hours community service.
