Croc's awesome power caught on camera

This is why you stand well back from a Saltwater crocodile.

Video uploaded to Instagram by National Geographic adventurer Trevor Frost shows a good-sized croc leaping vertically from waters in North Australia over the weekend.

The animal uses its core body strength to propel itself out of the water and try and clamp it’s jaws on a dangling piece of meat.

After soaring more than a metre into the air, the croc balances on the tip of its tail with terrifying agility.

"Crocodiles have incredibly strong tails," Mr Frost wrote on Instagram.

"Their tails propel them in the water like torpedoes from a submarine. In fact, as you see here, their tails are so strong that they can propel their entire body out of the water. Crocodiles are so cool."
