Snow falls upon Canberra suburbs for first time in nine years
The nation's capital copped a light dusting of snow today for the first time in nine years.
A cold snap turned Canberra suburbs into a white winter playground with snow falling across the city including on Parliament House.

The ACT office of the Bureau of Meteorology said temperatures dropped by two degrees with frosts expected for the next few mornings.

It was the first time the capital had seen snow since 2006. Even snowploughs were spotted about the place.

The cold front also brought snow to towns at the top of the Blue Mountains and further west in Orange.
