Six teenagers missing in outback Queensland found by police

Six teenagers reported missing in remote country in Queensland's north-west have been found by police.

Police said the five boys and one girl were last seen near their stranded vehicle west of Mt Isa near the Queensland and Northern Territory border around 3:30pm (AEST) yesterday.

The teenagers, spotted by a pilot from a local cattle station, were on the May Downs Road between two flooded creeks, about 30 kilometres from the border.

Police earlier said they were unable to conduct a land search due to wet conditions and flooding and relied instead on planes and helicopters.

They said initial investigations suggested the teens, who were all believed to be aged between 15 and 16, were uninjured.
