Man on the run after escaping Pt Augusta prison with two others

One prisoner remains at large after three men escaped from Port Augusta prison in South Australia overnight.

Prison staff said the three men in their early 20s and 30s escaped from the low security prison just after 10:00pm (ACDT) and ran south.

Police recaptured two of the prisoners, Craig Cullinan and Troy Churchill, at 5:30am at Port Augusta West.

Howard Weetra, aged 24, is still on the run.

Weetra is Aboriginal, 171 centimetres tall and slim, and was last seen wearing green trousers and a maroon-coloured top.

Police have warned members of the public not to approach him.
